New Background Hassle...

So as you can see I have been trying to update a little and change the background. I lost my last post and a couple of my widgets though. Yuck! I don't know why I keep doing this but it is fun to open the site and see something different from time to time I guess. Oh, and along with apologies, I am very sorry that you keep having to listen to "C is for Cookie." McCoy and I use to love it but not any more. LOL. I cant figure out how to get my passwords to get into my music account and change the songs. Sorry, I am working on it and hopefully will have it figured out soon.

As far as my last post, well I was so bummed that it got erased, because I am totally stoked about my new business venture into Shop To Earn. No worries though, you will definitely hear more about it in upcoming posts. Basically I bought a website and I get cash back for shopping! My site has links to over 500 + different retailers including Target, ITunes, Best Buy, Barnes & Nobles and Walmart just to name a few. So I get $$$ back on items I was going to buy anyway and I dont have to do anything. I also get cash back if my friends and family shop at any of these stores too. And back to the blog, hope the new site is pleasing and I will get some new pics up soon. I have been spending most of the day today trying to learn more about Shop to Earn and trying to plan our upcoming trip to Idaho. Glade McCoy and I are so stoked to be going to be going back west to mountain country next month. Only four more weeks and counting down! Thats pretty much all I can talk about these days! I miss my momma and I wanna go home! McCoy and I are going to be in Idaho for close to a month. I hope thats long enough to get my family fix. :) The first weekend we are there Glade McCoy and I are attending the "Brickie Family Reunion!" McCoy is so excited to play with all his cousins! Then Glade will fly back to Florida for a couple of weeks to man the business while McCoy and I vaca in fabulous B-Town and take in all the Grandparent time we can get! Then Glade will fly back to Idaho for his best friends wedding and then its homeward bound to Florida. Hope we survive. LOL. These next few weeks are gonna fly by!

Parades, Rain, BBQ, Fears and Fireworks...

First off hope Everyone had a Happy 4th of July! We spent the morning in the church parking lot doing a bike parade and pancake breakfast sponsored by McDonald's. I pulled out some supplies to decorate Macs bike last night but he fell asleep before we could do it so I decorated for him while watching John & Kate Plus 8 (which I am so totally addicted to now - thanks Val). When he woke up today I had his bike sitting at the bottom of the stairs and he must have seen it on his walk over from his room to mine. When he got to my room the first thing he said was, "Mommy, I came to tell you something. Tank you for making my bike like that. It looks berry berry nice." Awwwhhhh. Isn't it nice to be appreciated! . (I soaked it up.) He was so thrilled to be riding his bike today with the "big" kids even though there was kids of all ages there. And he did so good, he was really cruising around the parking lot and he would wave at us as he went around. It was sooo cute. When he finished we asked him if he had fun to which he replied, "Yes, I did hab fun but those kids were beating me. I didn't win." Poor kid thought it was a race and that is why he was cruising so fast around the parade circle. We explained to him that it was not a race and everyone did a good job but having that competitive Peterson Spirit he was not happy until Daddy told him that he won the Two Year old race.

The morning was beautiful but when we got home we spent the afternoon staying in doors as it was pouring rain and thundering. Glade and I each got to take at nap, McCoy never did sleep, and we also got a wonderful call with some wonderful news! There is now 29 Peterson Grandchildren (30 if you count the 1 great granchild)! Glade's Sister Nicole had a baby girl last night! Congratulations Parkers! We can't wait to meet the new little miss Parker next month!

The good news also brought on good weather because it cleared up around 4 which was just about the time we headed over to our friends house for a BBQ. Thanks again Jenn and Scott for the wonderful food and fantastic desserts! We had a really great time and McCoy loves to play at his buddy Alex's house. Well everything was grand until it it came to fireworks time. McCoy started to have a serious panic attack. He was freaking out, not crying or screaming or anything he just refused to go outside and then he was worried that the house and the cars were going to "kasploid." He hid under a blanket for a while and then finally begged to go home. We took him home and I had to sit in the backseat with him. He was so quiet and wide eyed the whole ride home. My heart just broke. In general he is a big scaredy cat about everything especially loud noises but he gets over it quickly. We think he has anxiety issues. We use to joke about it but now we are starting to get a little worried. Tonight he was just so frightening it was so sad and I couldn't do nothing but hold him and tell him over and over it was all going to be ok and that fireworks are safe and some people enjoy them but if he doesn't than that's ok. Luckily after we got in the safety of our own home he was ok. He spent the rest of the night playing in one of our laps though and then finally fell asleep in Glades. Lord help me if anyone in the neighborhood has leftover fireworks tomorrow night though. Oh boy!

Miami

Sooooo, Friday night we got a call saying we won a Lincoln Navigator! Yea Right....... Turns out we "won" a time share presentation and a scratch off ticket which might contain one of four prizes: A Navigator, $2,500 cash, a 32" Flat screen or a 7 night 5 Star Hotel Stay. We figured we wouldn't be driving a new car home but the man on the phone made it sound like we would walk away with a TV. So we figured that was worth a drive to Miami. Poor us had to go to Miami on a Saturday. :) Well after a 2 1/2 hour presentation we knew we weren't getting no TV. And since it was a hotel handing out the scratch tickets we were pretty sure what our prize would be and sure enough we got a hotel stay and another time share presentation (they throw that in with every prize- they were bound and determined to keep on trying. LOL) The nice thing is though that we get to pick our destination out of 12 different places so that is nice.

After the presentation we did got to hit the beach though and that was great! The weather was perfect. It was overcast so we didn't broil to death and water was just right. We had a nice relaxing time. McCoy has really taken to drawing in the sand which was fine until he wanted to put the sand on my back and draw there too. Crazy kid.

We also had a small BBQ this weekend with some new friends of ours. Our sons are the same age so McCoy had a great little playmate to hang with and swim with. The weather was nice too, overcast again so we got to eat outside and watch the kids swim and play. It was great! Afterward we cut up a watermelon and you would have thought we gave McCoy candy and soda. He was sooo happy to have watermelon, he just started really liking it recently

and he hate 5 pieces! And big pieces too. Luckily he never got a belly ache.

Hair? Flowers? Phone?

So let me just throw this disclaimer out there. I don't have anything against little girls. Glade and I love love love all our little neices and little girl cousins. That being said....Glade and I knew for sure that we could not have a little girl for our first child. We did not think we would be able to handle all the girlie stuff, all the drama, and all the outfits, and hairdos, yada yada. ;) I must say that really backfired on us. Lately McCoy is so adamant about picking out his own clothes and dressing himself in is own style. And his hair....well its seen some pretty crazy do's. Let's just say the kids got style....and its all his own! Normally he rocks the "dino" spikes. Which is just a few spikes on top, or we do the "handsome hair" which is basically a sleek comover, or else he throws on his baseball cap. Last night we were just going to the clubhouse to work out and he insisted on coming his hair first. And he wanted to have "Rocker Spikes All the way Around..." Picture that while he is saying this his little pointer finger is circling his head and his right eyebrow is raised as if to say, "You following me here mom." So anywho without further ado, I give you ROCKER SPIKES MCCOY!!!



Now, some of you may have hubbies or boy toys who love to do the gift for no reason thing....Well let me just say Lucky You! I love my man to death but gifts out of the blue are few and far between. Actually, up until yesterday they were a never gonna happen thing. Not to say that Glade doesn't do wonderful little surprises like clean the house, do dishes, make breakfast, etc. He just has always said that flowers and small gifts were a waste of money because flowers die, candy gets eaten, and little trinkets get lost. So you can imagine my sheer shock when out of the blue Glade comes strolling through the door yesterday after work with this pretty pink dozen. I seriously asked him if one of our customers was trying to get rid of some flowers or something. When he finally convinced me that he actually walked into a store and bought them just for me and just because, well I was speechless. I know they are just flowers but it was such a wonderful surprise and it really made my day! And my Week for that matter!



The flowers were a big up lifter especially because I was feeling pretty geeked out about my cell phone. Glade and I have the exact same cell phone so we have been looking for a way to tell them apart. I don't know what I was thinking but for some crazy reason I decided to glam up my cell with some sparkles. Well, not only did it take a freaking hour, it turned out to be a lot harder than I thought, and in the end it looked so awful. My phone looked like a Be-Dazzle Reject! And all the gems are already falling off so now I guess I am going to scrape the rest off and find another solution to our phone delima. I can live without the bling bling phone for now!

I have to add this story though: while I was peeling the gems off their plastic casing page, McCoy was so interested and wanted to "play" too. So I gave him an extra sheet of gems and let him peel them off. After about five minutes of struggeling to peel off the tiny gems and then fighting with them to come off his hands, clothes, etc,. He finally threw his hands in the air, wiped his brow and said, "Pheww mom, this is a realy hard Game. I not winning."

Fathers Day, Anniversary, Bye Bye Curry's

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Fathers Day weekend. I was really missing my Dad but I am really looking forward to August when I get to spend some time with him and my Granddaddy too, McCoy's Great Grandad! Fafa La la la, I hope you will remember me in August.

As for our Daddy Glade, well McCoy and I had some fun with him. I am such a lucky Momma to have such a supportive wonderful hubby who takes such good care of and plays so well with our little guy. Glade and McCoy have such a special bond and it brings a smile to my face whenever I watch them play basketball, or punch, or cars. McCoy sure loves his daddy and I sure love the both of em! My guys ROCK! We did a special little Father's Day project this year. McCoy and Glade spend so much time playing on his little table so I wanted to do something to mark the year and the time they spend together, something fun and something McCoy would really enjoy. Soooo, I did just that...I let them make there mark and commemorate this year with their own two hands. Literally... One of McCoy's Favorite things to do is to trace his hand and cut it out and compare it with a cut out we have of Glades and Mine Hands. He loves to see how big his hands are getting and see that he is growing. So I thought he would enjoy seeing his hands and Daddy's hands together on his play table while they are playing. I still have some work to do on this project but you get the idea. It was fun for all.

As for the rest of last week, well it was a little bitter sweet. We had to say goodbye to our wonderful neighbors and good friends on Monday. They decided to relocate to Texas and as sad as we were to see them go we know they will be very happy there. This picture was taken the night before they left. We got lucky and got to spend one last fun night with little Miss Robbi before the went. McCoy sure is going to miss his little friend, I don't know what we are going to do without the Curry's. We miss you bunches already and hope you are settling in nicely over there.

Last week Glade and I also celebrated our four year anniversary! Its so crazy because last week I found a picture of Glade that I have held onto since we started dating. I love this photo because it reminds me just how long we have been in love. It is a photo of Glade and on the back of the picture it says, "When you take me by the hand...". It was taken in October of 2000. This photo has been to Alaska and back twice. Once I mailed it to Glade while he was on his mission because he wanted to see his goatee, and another time I actually carried it with me when I went on an Alaskan cruise in 2003. When Glade was on his miss, I calculated the distance apart we were (2,757 Miles 52 hours 48 minutes) and also wrote that on the back of this photo so I wouldn't forget that no matter how far apart we were, we would always have a special connection, a special bond. This photo has been such a huge staple in life, I carried it with me while we were dating, and even after we got married I would pull it out and take it with me whenever I had to travel without Glade or whenever Glade was away for work. The edges are so worn and there are so many holes in it from where I have pinned it up but I must admit even worn and tattered, Glade looks just as handsome as ever. I know its silly, but this photo means so much to me. I was in love with the boy in this photo then and I am still in love the man he has become now and I will continue to love him and all that he is yet to become! I hope to always remember him just like the boy in the picture, the hottie who stole my heart and now the man who still keeps it safe... I love you babe! To the moon and back!

Happy Doughnut Day!

Hope Everyone had a wonderful day yesterday Celebrating National Doughnut Day! I am a holiday freak! Any reason to celebrate makes for a grand day and fun outings. McCoy and I made paper doughnuts with sprinkles and pink frosting of course (my boy knows a thing or two about good doughnuts!) in honor of this scrumptious holiday. (I know soo Cheezy but we had fun) And keeping with the festive spirit we made a delicious trip down to Dunken Doughnuts to commence with the celebrating! It was a glorious sugar filled day with Sprinkles on Top!
