My Buddy and Me...

McCoy:"Mom, You my pal?"
Me: Of course buddy, always and forever!"
McCoy:"I lub you momma"
Me: I love you too dude, to the moon and back!"
McCoy:"I lub you mom to the sun and shining!"

Last night I watched my little man sleep and it was all I could do to not wake him up to play with him and squeeze and hug him and hear him laugh. I had to settle for a quick kiss on the forehead as I tucked him in. I just realized that my baby has become an actual little person with his own opinions and ideas and stories. He even has his own memories already. He loves to tell me stories about things we did the day before. "Momma remember when I did this...." He cracks me up on a daily basis. Even though we go the rounds sometimes when his "toddler Monster" surfaces, we always have a good time together. He is my own personal cheerleader too. When he eats his lunch, even if its just Mac and Cheese, he looks at me with such appreciation and say's "Thanks for making this for me mom, Yum Yum!Good job cooking mom," well those words just melt me and makes me smile. Being an only child right now Mac gets alot of my attention and I love being there for him. When he was a baby I use to push "lovies" on him. Blankies, teddy bears and other stuffed animals but he never got attached to any of them. I worried because I thought he would have a tough time making emotional attachements later on and then my pediatrician told me not to worry, she said that McCoy didnt need any of those things because he had me 24/7 all day everyday! I was his "lovey!" From then I took so much pride in being there every second for him. I dont know what I am going to do when he has to go to school next year!

From booties to boots & Little Tykes to Bikes ...

Where oh Where did my baby boy go. He is only Two years old, isnt that still considered a baby??? My baby is zooming through toddler hood and is transitioning from toddler to child right in front of my eyes and I am so not ready yet. I know it is so cliche but every one who said take every moment in because they fly by was right. I cried last night because over this past week I have slowly opened my eyes to see my little baby learning how to do big boy things.Like learning to ride a big boy bike. He barely learned how to ride his tricicle it seems and now is on to bigger and better things. He already thinks he can do motorcross tricks on his bike just like he has seen on the Xbox games. He rides with no feet or no hands or his favorite is riding with one hand. I know I will be rushing him to the emergency room within the year. Lord help me.

Out and About

We had a lot of fun while Tasha was in town. The first night she was here it was freezing but over the next few days it warmed up a bit. We had the opportunity to check out Lion Country Safari,Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Casino, downtown West Palm Beach where we got some fresh Tats by Melissa, and then We spent Tasha's last day in Florida in Miami. We walked around some of the shops and spent a good amount of time just basking in the sun. The ocean was way beyond freezing to get in but there was plenty to do and see just laying on the beach.

My Goodest Bestest Friend...

The past week was very fun for me because I got to spend it with my Goodest Bestest Friend! Tasha came out to Florida hoping to get away from the cold and into some sun. Unfortunately she forgot to leave the cold and wind back and Idaho. When she first got here it was barely 60 degrees which was a very big rarity for Florida this time of year. Luckily it started warming up as the week progressed. It was actually perfect whether for sightseeing because we could walk around and not get to hot and we could lay out and not melt. I was missing my friend so much and was so happy to have her here. It was perfect timing. I have been so busy lately with this or that it was nice to get a little mini vaca. And I have been missing everyone back west too so it was nice to hear about Idaho and what people are up to. It was absolutely wonderful!

My Goodest Bestest Friend, thanks so much for flying across the country to see this paradise over here and spend some time with an old friend. I love your guts chica! Try not to freeze in that snow over there.

Projects, Toddler Monsters, and School

Mommy & Me Project:
McCoy just recently got into trains and so we found him small starter track on got him a couple Thomas trains but we found that he is more interested in driving his cars on the train track and turning it into a race track. I am so glad I didn’t try to scrap up the cash to buy him a real train table! We looked around for a “cars” table but found no such thing. Luckily I found a train table base at the thrift store. The base was in good condition but had no top. So we headed down to Home Depot, bought a sheet of plywood and some paints and went to town. McCoy came up with the design himself. He told me what he wanted on his Cars table and then I drew it out for him. I think it turned out ok. Maybe not the greatest but we had so much. He could not wait for the finish to dry so he could test out his track.

Attack of the Terrible Twos?:
Of course I look at these rips in my couch and think, “even though I caught him red handed, my little Angel couldn’t have done this.” While I was cruising through the house the other day trying to get some chores done McCoy got into my toolbox and pulled out the exact-o knife. The scary thing is we always pull the blade in before we put it away but he managed to push it out just a hair, just a small corner of it was sticking it out, just enough to rip the material on the couch. I was so scarred that he had a knife I couldn’t even get mad at him for what he had done. Even worse I was 5 feet away from him and in a matter of seconds he managed to attack each one of the cushions leaving them all with 2-4 cuts each. We had to sit down and have a long talk about sharp objects and how important it is to not play with mommy and daddies things. I am walking around my house now thinking about what a danger zone it is. Yikes. Luckily for the most part McCoy is not really that mischevious, or maybe he just hasn’t hit that stage yet. Oh, help me if it is still coming. An upside is that Glade and I both hate this particular couch. We got it for dirt cheap because it has a rip in the back of it already. We just got it as a space filler for our front room because when we first moved into this house we had no furniture for the front room. So hopefully this means a new couch set is coming soon.

School Day'z:

Well McCoy has officially started and unofficial preschool. He really isn’t old enough yet for preschool, but a couple of the moms in my mommies group have decided to band together and try to help the kids with their basic scholastic skills such as ABC’s, counting, shapes, colors etc. Most of the kids are great in at lest 1 or 2 of the subjects but fall behind in the others so it is nice to give them a chance to learn with their friends in a friendly environment. We take turns holding sessions at each others houses. Last Friday McCoy had his friends over to learn about the Letter C, the Color Yellow and the Number 3. We had so much fun. We painted, read stories, made counting caterpillars and sang a fun song about cookies and then of course ate confetti cookie cakes! It is really great to watch the kids grasp new concepts and even though right now they have a hard time sitting still sometimes, it is really good training for them for real school. McCoy loves his “School Days” and gets so excited to see his friends.

Weekend Review

We had such a fun weekend this past week. My house has totally paid dearly for my negligence during my weekend fun though. Today was spent just trying to get things back in some kind of order so I could start really cleaning tomorrow.

First off Last Thursday we attended a concert downtown where Vince Neil was performing. Now I am not a huge Motley Crue fan but Glade and I know all the songs just from the radio and the concert was free and outside so we took McCoy and he had a ball. He took one of his little guitars and was totally rocking out, it was hilarious. He put on quiet a show for everyone and he even had a few fans following him around.

Friday Night I had another Bunko game and it didn’t turn out like I had planned, in fact we actually had a bunch of last minute cancels due to this or that and so we didn’t have enough players to play but our host had made tons of awesome food so those of us who showed ate well and had some very entertaining conversations. It was still a wonderful ladies night out which I really needed!

Saturday Glade had to work during the day so Mac and I had a mommy and me day and spent the whole morning and afternoon out and about. We went to Home Depot for the project day. McCoy made a fire truck crayon holder that he was so proud of. He had to hammer, glue and assemble the whole thing and he did pretty good. We love our Home Depot days. After that we did some shopping here and there at some new stores and then met Daddy for Lunch. McCoy could not wait to show Glade what he had made. Whenever McCoy does anything outside of the house he just cant wait to show his daddy and he just beams with pride when Daddy says,” Wow dude, it looks awesome, great job!" Every Thursday McCoy goes to story time at our Library and the kids get read to and then they make a project. After project time Mac looked up at me with big excited eyes and said, "Lets go home mom and show dad. Mom you think he say my project is cool?" I said, "Yes son, I’m sure daddy will love it." McCoy's eyes lit up when we finally got home and he had the chance to show off his work. It is the sweetest thing.

Oh, and after Glade got of work Saturday night I drug him out for more shopping and we finally got my new camera! Happy Birthday to me. Ok, I know my b-day isn’t until Wednesday but I just couldn’t go a day longer without a camera so Hooray! I am the happiest woman right now! I was so depressed without my camera and happy to be back in point and shoot mode! You might see some random pictures on the blog as I am having to learn to use this new camera and all its fun new features. And the only reason I dont have pics right now is because I havent had time to install the new software but photos are coming soon, just to warn you. LOL.

On to Sunday, well we got up and got all dressed up for church, drove twenty minutes to get there and then realized we forgot that there was no church today. Sooo we went to Breakfast at I-hop and McCoy got the new Horton Hears a Who pancakes he has been wanting since he saw the commercial. The waiter brought out this massive heaping pile of pancakes that were dripping in blue and pink syrup and covered with colored sprinkles everywhere and finally topped of with a sucker sticking out of the top of them. McCoy's eyes were so big and his jaw just dropped. The waiter said,” Do you think you can eat all that little buddy?" McCoy just looked at him with this scarred look and then he slowly picked up his fork and with determination in his little eyes he took the first couple of big bites. Needless to say he barely made a dent in them and when he was done he was covered in pink and blue syrup. Later that evening we had a totally wonderful dinner with our friends next door. Rob made us some awesome ribs and after dinner we played trivial pursuit (Jr. because we wanted to feel really smart) and then we played a quick round of gestures. It was the best game night I have had in a long time because I couldn’t tell you who won either of the games but we sure laughed a lot and had a ball. McCoy and Robby even got into game night with their own made up version of Candy Land. Thanks again Rob and Missy for such a great night. We love you guys!

Take Me Out To the Ball Game...

We took McCoy to his first Baseball game tonight and he had so much fun. We all had a good time. Glade won free tickets to the Marlins game vs. the NY Mets. McCoy had just woken up when we first walked into the stadium and it took him through the top of the first inning to wake up and once he did, he was so excited to be there. Ever since we picked up the tickets yesterday he has asked me every hour on the hour, "Is time to go to game yet mom?" He was cheering the guys on with "come on, you can do it," "Go Go team" and once he learned about strikes his favorite was, "Your Outta here!" Every time the music came on he started dancing and watching the big screen seeing if he would see himself. He never made it on the screen but he never gave up either. It was so cute to watch. He had Glade and I just laughing. I tried to get him to leave during the beginning of the 7th inning to which he replied, "Just wait mom, I’m watching this game." Though by the bottom of the eight he was finally ready to go and since it was 10:30 we all agreed time to get home and get to bed. All in all it was a fun night and the Marlins just got a new little fan! Three fans actually. Glade and I had a great time also! I tried to get picturs from my cell phone on here but they wont show up. Hopefully I will have a camera by next week. I am going nuts! I will try to post the cell phone pics later if I can get it figured out.

Oh, and even though we didn’t get to see it, Marlins beat the Mets 5-4 for their first victory of the season.
