We live and breath Star Wars around here so of course we had to have a Star Wars party! And I say we because Glade and I had just as much fun planning and being at the party as McCoy. :) What started as a little drop off party for 8 or 9 boys turned into a "little" shabang for 16 kids! But the more the merrier right? We all had a blast.
We started the party off by giving everybody their Jedi training Gear. Amazing how a simple sewed tunic and a rope belt and some imagination can create a bunch of Jedis! After we geared up we headed over to the Droid factory where we created our own R2 droids. Im still cleaning up glitter glue and crayon.
Then it was time to fuel up for our upcoming training. Some of the foods included: Padawan Pizza, Jedi Juice, Vader Veggies, Wookie Cookies, Jaba-Mole and Scooper Trooper chips, Hans Hummus and Melenium Falcon Ship Chips (hummus and pita chips), and lots of candy with star wars names.
Then it was on to Jedi Training where each kid was given a light saber and we mastered some of our Jedi skills by playing games like Jedi Says and seeing who could keep their balloon in the air the longest with their light saber. After training we let them run wild and practice their battle skills with each other. Of course this was the favorite part.
Then it was time to wrangle up the troops again to defeat the Death Star. It was hillarious to see them try their darn hardest to crack that pinata with thier light sabers (pool noodles) and not make a dent. But then when I brought out the real deal, the bat! They beat that death star pretty good!
Then it was time to celebrate their triumph with cupcakes and a little happy birthday song!
And after that they played Pin the saber on Yoda and Then Darth Vader made his grand apperance! The kids went nuts when they saw him. Poor DadVader got beat down, but he was such a trooper. What a great daddy to dress up in 100 degree weather and let 15 little kiddos beat him with light sabers!
These are a couple of McJedis little buddies. I am so glad he has such great friends!
And this little cutie is the reason that this was not an all boys party! Little miss Red was in his preschool class two years ago and it was love at first sight! She is a year older than him but he said that doesnt matter, he can't help who he has a "crush" on. Yes he used the word crush! My baby boy! Oh boy! I can't believe he is 6! Where has the time gone?
I love you mucho my little Jedi. I know the force is strong with you and my wish for you is that you will always have that wild imagination and fun loving attitude and you always strive to stay away from the dark side! Te Amo Big Mac!
