Easter Weekend

Hope Everyone had a Happy Easter. McCoy really got into hunting for eggs this year. He participated in three egg hunts, one for his playgroup on Thursday. At that one he really didn’t feel like hunting eggs until he found out they hand candy in them & then he wanted to find an egg, open it and eat the candy before he found another one. This slowed him down a bit. LOL. The second hunt was put on by our neighborhood clubhouse on Saturday and there was tons of small children so he had fun. Then we had a little hunt here at the house after church on Sunday. We were so tired after lunch that we lounged around and half napped and the Easter Bunny almost forgot to come. Luckily he made it even through it poured all day and McCoy had a nice little egg hunt in the front room. Thanks again to McCoy's Nanna and Pops for sending him his Race Car basket. He loved the Lightning McQueen Eggs. Also Thanks Mom for giving him the book "What is Easter." I know you gave it to him last year but he still loves it. It is such a great story about what Easter is really about. It is perfect for children and McCoy actually loves to read it all year round. Thanks again. I recommend it to everyone. It is called "What is Easter?" and it is written by Michelle Medlock Adams.

We also took McCoy to go see Horton Hears a Who over the weekend and he absolutely loved it. It was his first Big Boy movie in the Theatre. (besides CARS which he slept through) He has always loved the book by Dr. Sues and as soon as he saw previews for the movie he asked to go see it. I promised him if he was good we would take him. He was so excited all week until it came time to go to the theatre and then he was a little hesitant. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Mom, the theatre is scary?" I said no buddy its not scary. Do you think you will be ok if we go? To which he replied, "Yup, I ok but tell it not to be scarry K, Oh and I sit wit you right?." He was a little scarred when we first walked in because it was so dark so he sat in my lap but as soon as the cartoon came on he was smiling and laughing. He had to cover his eyes once but all in all it was a cute movie and a fun family film for our little guy.

COLD FRONT SWEEPS FLORIDA???

We woke up this morning absolutely freezing. We slept with the windows open because we heard it was going to cool off during the night. But when we woke up none of us wanted to get out of bed and as soon as we did we immediately put on our slippers and sweat pants and McCoy and I even had to throw on our jackets. We checked the thermostat sure it would read freezing, only to find out that it was just 63 degrees. If we lived back in Idaho we would be enjoying a warm front. LOL. We had to laugh at ourselves for our dramatic morning. :) Even though we stayed bundled up through out most of the day. Around noon it warmed up a bit so Mac took his jacket off and we spent the rest of the day outside enjoying the cool weather. I finally got some gardening done and I’m getting excited to get out and plant flowers and spruce up my yard. It’s funny because it’s hard to realize it is spring because things just bloom and grow here all year round. I have never seen it not green here. I love it but it is a strange change, I am starting to miss the spring and fall seasons. (Not so much the winter yet though)
But to everyone else out there who is watching things blossom: “Happy Spring” from our home to yours.”

Figured it was about time to update...

Soooo, I know I havent posted for two weeks and now I cant remember what we did.LOL We had a busy couple of days recently filled with lots of fun stuff but I have been so depressed for the past few days because my camera has turned up missing. We went to the park recently and came back without it. I had an open top bag so Im guessing it musta fell out or maybe one of the kids grabbed it. I went back to the park and searched for it but to no avail! :( Luckily my birthday is next month so guess what I am asking the hubby for? If anyone has an awesome camera that they totally love please send me info about it. I am going to have to start doing research again and hopefully I can find a grand replacement.

But on to funner times...
Last Saturday McCoy went to Home Depot for the monthly project wich was building a race car. Him and his daddy built an awesome race car and whem Mac drives it he says flame come out the back. What an imagination this boy has.

Sunday was such a beautiful day that we went swimming and McCoy was all over the pool. He had his wings on and he felt invincible! We love to do active things with him because we all get wore out and then we all get to enjoy a good nap!
Sunday night McCoy got to spend the evening with Robbi while Glade and I attended a wedding. It was a fun and much needed night away for Glade and I. Thanks again Missy & Rob for McCoy Sitting.

And this past week we have been running non stop with work, playdates, and Bunko! I hosted my first BUNKO game night last night. I had never played before last night but my friend Mellisa talked me into starting a group and we gathered some gals from the neighborhood and got together last night for a fun time. It is such a fun and easy game. We talked and ate and played and just had a good time. It was a fun ladies only night that I look forward to again next month.

Present day: McCoy got to express his artistic side today, we met up with some friends at Picasso's Playhouse and let the kids loose. This is a ceramic painting and firing shop where you get to paint your own ceramics. Of course Mac picked out a Monster Truck and then went to town. First he covered the whole thing in black, then the whole thing in blue, then black again, and then he colored just the truck in blue and left the tires black. it was captivating to watch his little hands working so carefully while his head was cocked sideways, his eyebrows were furrowed and the tip of his tonge was sticking out just a bit. He was concentrating so hard and he was so pleased with the final results. My friend took pics for me so hopefully I will get those posted later.

Now wer are just looking forward to the weekedend and whatever it may hold!

Getting Crazy on a Saturday Night

Today was such a beautiful day that I took McCoy and his bestest friend Robbi for a swim & we had so much fun.

After swimming, and after the kids went down for nap my wonderful friend and neighbor Missy did my nails for me. She just does wonderful work & it feels so nice to get pampered like that I must say that I enjoy it way to much. It’s nice to feel so girly & we always have such good chats. Well Missy also just recently purchased a T.A.T. machine. (Temporary Airbrush Tattoos) So with her new machine on trial right now she needed some fresh "canvas" to practice on so Glade and I volunteered our skin. We had so much fun. To see Glade with tattoos though just makes me laugh. She said she plans on practicing on us some more throughout the week so maybe you will see more pic’s soon.

After our Tatting party, we went to Kabosko’s Creamery which is just a little shopping center outside our community. Every weekend they have a car show there and live music so we took the kids and of course Mac loved the cars. He tried to identify ever car with a car from the Lightning McQueen movie. And with the live music of course came some dancing in the streets. McCoy and Robbi were getting down.

When we got home we had a nice little dinner together munching on some homemade Manicotti, garlic toast and salad. And for dessert we had fresh fruit and marshmallow cream cheese dip. Yumm Yumm. It was such a complete fun filled day and we are so lucky to have such good friends who just happen to be our next door neighbors. Thanks Curry’s for sharing your Saturday with us, we had a blast.

Tagged Once...Tagged Twice

TAGGED AGAIN!
WHAT IS HIS NAME: Brent GLADE Peterson
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MARRIED: Going on 4 short but wonderful Years.
HOW LONG DID WE DATE: We started dating in 2000 then Glade went on his mission and we got back together shortly after that in 2002 and we got married in 2004.
WHO SAID I LOVE YOU FIRST: He did. He had wanted to say it for a while and then one night he said, “Do you know that song, ‘I think I love you, but what am I so afraid of’? Then he said, “well yea, I Love You!” It was so corny but cute.
WHO IS TALLER: Glade by almost a foot.
WHO SINGS BETTER: This would be like comparing the worst of the worst. Glade and love to sing to each other but we are both tone deaf as all get up. Ironically we both come from extremely musically talented families. Go figure.
WHO'S SMARTER: Glade is more book smarts and I am more people smarts. We help each other out a lot and benefit from each others strengths.
WHO PAYS THE BILLS: Glade. This makes both of our lives much easier. He is the accountant after all.
WHO SLEEPS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED: I do because it is furthest away from the door and the window. I am such a chicken.
WHO MOWS THE LAWN: Don’t know his name but he does a good job. We have a service only because our homeowners association pays for it.
WHO COOKS DINNER: I do most every night and although I can’t say that I enjoy the actual cooking of dinner, I do Love serving my family a warm homemade meal.
WHO DRIVES: Glade, he goes crazy whenever anyone else drives.
WHO'S MORE STUBBORN: Of course I am going to say Glade, but if he where to be the one writing this I’m sure it would be a different story.
WHO KISSED WHO FIRST: I would say he kissed me and he would say I kissed him so we still don’t know to this day other than we were meant to kiss each other that night and fall in love!
WHO ASKED OUT WHO FIRST: His best friend asked me out for him. My poor hubby was clueless in the girlfriend department.
WHO PROPOSED: Glade. He asked my parents first and then the next night was the night before Christmas eve and he asked me over to his parents house and told me he got me an early present. He gave me an empty ring box with a cute poem and his proposal. The ring was waiting for me on the Christmas tree hung on a beautiful Glass ornament. After we got the ring off the tree he got down and one knee and put it on me. It was one of those commercial proposals and I loved every second of it!
WHO HAS MORE SIBLINGS: Glade, he has 8 brothers and sisters.
WHO WEARS THE PANTS: We both do. Tight stretchy pants that make us look tight like tigers! Rrraarrhh. 

A Hundred Dollars

Last year at Disneyland Glade and I burst up laughing when we heard a mother tell her 3 boys (all under the age of 5) that they couldn’t have balloons because they cost a hundred dollars. She said this with the most straight forward face that it just cracked us up. If you have kids you know what it feels like when they ask for EVERYTHING. We ended up sitting by her during the parade and talking with her for a while. Glade & I have since adapted her saying, and we often use it on each other but have never said it to McCoy because we know he has no concept of $$$. Well today McCoy and I visited the Build-A-Bear Workshop to browse around for some fun stuff for his bear. I told him he could pick anything in the whole store. Well he picked up a pair of sunglasses and guitar and then quickly put them back. I said, “Hey buddy do you want those, mommy will buy them for you.” To which he somberly responded “no mommy, it costs a hunded dollars.” As you can imagine my heart just opened up. What do you say, I told him that they didnt cost a hudred dollars and then showed him the amount on the back wich were both small numbers that he recognized. (Lucky me he picked inexpensive things. LOL) We both walked out of the store with big smiles. Its so funny what our kids pick up whether we are speaking directly or indirectly to them.

Please Pass Along...

So I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to get these recruiting flyers circulating. We post them around many of the colleges in Idaho and Utah, but I needed another way to get them out there so I though what better way than to post it on the blog. Surely my friends and family could help me spread them around via the wonderful world wide web.
As you know Glade and I own a pest control company, Empire Pest Defense, Well right now it is recruiting season for us so we are busy busy looking for guys and gals to come work during the summer months. We are trying to fill our sales positions, one manager position and of course we are always looking for recruiters. There is no experience needed to apply for a sales position as we provide all the training, however sales experience is necessary to apply for the manager position. We have two offices, one in West Palm Beach and the other in Orlando. If you know someone who is at least 18 years of age and looking for a fun & profitable summer job then please pass along this flyer. We can be reached at Empire Pest Defense # 561-434-6445.

We thank you in advance for all your help in getting this flyer passed around. We really appreciate it!
Love,
Amber & Glade
